The transcription factor PpRKD evokes female developmental fate in the sexual reproductive organs of Physcomitrium patens

OBJECTIVE.
The research group including Assistant Professor Emiko Yoro, Master's student Seiya Suzuki, Assistant Professor Nobuhiro Akiyoshi, Professor Keiko Sakakibara (College of Science, Rikkyo University) has identified a transcription factor PpRKD that determines the female developmental fate in the moss Physcomitrium patens, a species in which both male and female reproductive organs develop at the same apex of the same individual.
The results of this research were published in “New Phytologist” on November 22,2024.
