Issuing Certificates (For Alumni and International Exchange Student)
Academic Affairs
Please be advised that it may take longer than the days indicated in the chart when issuing such irregular certificates.
Type of certificate, processing fees, estimated time/days required to issue and deliver
Academic affairs office will be closed on Sundays, some national holidays and during summer / winter vacation period. Please refer to our hours of operation from the link shown on the bottom of this website and apply your certificates well in advance.
(1) Application via online application system
Online Application System Precautions
If you have already graduated from Rikkyo Univertisy, you need to register your information to the system and receive approval first.

(2) Application via Academic Affairs Office
Application by alumnus in person
Please be informed that you will be asked to present your identification documents and to pay for the certification issuance fee and postage fee (only when receiving the certificates via post).
(1) Personal identification documents
Valid passport, residence card, Japanese driving license, Japanese health insurance card, Japanese My Number card, and Rikkyo University Student ID Card
(2) Certificate processing fees
Cash (purchase a certificate stamp from the certificate stamping machine at the Academic Affairs Office)
300 JPY per Japanese document/400 JPY per English document
Application by representative (someone other than the alumnus)
(1) Copy of a document that confirms the identity of the person under whose name the certificate will be issued (the alumnus)
Valid passport, residence card, Japanese driving license, Japanese health insurance card, Japanese My Number card, and Rikkyo University Student ID Card
(2) Certificate processing fees
Cash (purchase a certificate stamp from the certificate stamping machine at the Academic Affairs Office)
300 JPY per Japanese document/400 JPY per English document
(3) Representative authorization letter
Must be signed or stamped by the person under whose name the certificate will be issued (the alumnus)
Example
I, (name of the person under whose name the certificate will be issued), hereby entrust (name of representative) with the application for and receipt of a (certificate type) on my behalf.【Date, signature or stamp of the person under whose name the certificate will be issued】
(4) Document that confirms the identity of the representative
Valid passport, residence card, Japanese driving license, Japanese health insurance card, Japanese My Number card, and Rikkyo University Student ID Card

Application by the alumnus
(1) Application form
An application form (in Japanese only) or please fill in following content at free format.
◆Name at time of graduation with furigana (if you wish to receive a certificate in English, please also include your name in alphabetic script as given on your passport)
◆Date of birth
◆Student ID number (if you remember it)
◆College and department or graduate school and program from which you graduated, and graduation month and year or enrollment period
◆Number and type of required certificate (please also note whether Japanese or English documents are required)
◆If you need to have your certificates sealed in evelopes (Yes or No) and if "Yes", how to enclose your certificates. (e.g. indivisually enclosed / a set of transcript and certificate of graduation in one envelope, etc)
◆Current address and point of contact during the day (e-mail address)

(3) Certificate processing fees
Postal money order for total fees (purchase at post office)
* We do not accept cash and check.
300 JPY per Japanese document/400 JPY per English document
* Please do not fill out the field for specified recipients.
(4) Return envelope
Must be stamped, with the return address written on it. If you would like to have your certificates sent via express mail, recorded delivery, registered mail, please indicate so clearly and stamp for the extra charges for such special delivery.
If you would like to send certificates to overseas from Japan, please choose airmail or EMS. (International Express Mail).
EMS: Please prepare postal money order for EMS in addition to certificate processing fees above.
If you would rather use EMS, please clearly write the name and destination details (address, post code, country, telephone number) in the corresponding field of the application form in block alphabetical letters. (The University will prepare an envelope and create the mailing form.)
Airmail: Please prepare return envelope. It must be stamped with the return address and name written on it.
Application by representative (someone other than the alumnus)
(5) Representative authorization letter (Original) *copy/photocopy are not accepted
Must be signed and stamped by the person under whose name the certificate will be issued (the alumnus)

(6) Copy of document that confirms the identity of the representative
