Support for Research Activities
University Research Funds and Grants Systems
The Rikkyo SFR is a research fund unique to Rikkyo University, with the specific goal of promoting academic research through aid for high-level, unique research that looks to cooperate with partners outside of the University and obtain major outside funding.
Research Items
Joint Project Research
We provide grants for joint research in which the University’s full-time faculty freely form a project team to carry out their work. It is possible to freely create a team for a set assignment.
Personal Research
We provide grants for individual research carried out by the University’s full-time faculty.
Graduate Student Research
We provide grants for research carried out under the guidance of an advisor (the University’s full-time faculty member) by either an individual graduate student or by several graduate students with a graduate student as representative (joint research).
Reimbursement for Publication Costs for International Research Papers
We provide partial grants for the costs incurred by the University’s full-time faculty in publishing to international academic periodicals.

Temporary Research Fellows
Our temporary research fellow system dispatches University researchers to overseas universities and research institutions with the goals of improving the standard of our academic research and education, as well as strengthening international academic cooperation.
Guest Research Fellows
Our guest research fellow system invites overseas researchers and specialists to Rikkyo with the goals of improving the standard of our academic research and education, as well as strengthening international academic cooperation.
Overseas Research
We provide grants for study and research that takes place at overseas universities and research institutions for a period between two months and one year.
Grants for International Meetings
We provide grants for academic research conferences that host local and international scholars and researchers, with the goal of promoting international joint research and contributing to international academic exchange at Rikkyo.
