OBJECTIVE.
Rikkyo University’s work on various programs to help achieve internationally agreed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through education and research can be explored on a new special website.

SDGs were adopted in September 2015 by the international community with the aim of creating a sustainable world, and since 2016, nations have been working to achieve the SDGs by 2030. There are 17 SDGs and 169 specific targets necessary to achieve them.
The SDGs chime with Rikkyo University’s motto and educational philosophy “Pro Deo et Patria,” which means “For God and Country” in Latin. At Rikkyo, we regard the term as meaning “seeking universal and divine truth (Pro Deo) as well as working for our world, society, and neighbors (Pro Patria).”
