OBJECTIVE.
In response to the current situation, where an increasing number of people affected by the Novel Coronavirus has been reported, Rikkyo University has made a decision to cancel the Entrance Ceremony for Academic Year 2020.
It goes without saying that the entrance ceremony is very important for freshman to start campus life, and this decision was not easily made especially when we think about how excited our students and family have been.
I want you to understand, however, that this difficult decision had to be made to give the top priority to safety and health for our students and family, so that our students may be able to have a good start for a new Academic Year.
It is such a pity that I may not be able to offer our congratulations to each of you in person as President of Rikkyo University, but our joy and excitement to welcome you as a member of Rikkyo University does not change at all.
Please be assured that we try our best to set up optimal campus environment for our students to spend a fulfilled campus life.
I really hope that you will understand our decision, and I sincerely wish you all the best for your start of campus life at Rikkyo University.
