OBJECTIVE.
Rikkyo University is to abolish conventional paper-based processes in favor of an online entrance exam application and enrollment system, starting with general entrance exams and admission procedures for the 2017 academic year. The new system will allow domestic and overseas applicants to submit university applications and/or complete enrollment procedures around the clock.
With the introduction of the online system, applicants will no longer be required to order and pay for entrance exam guidelines, as these documents will be downloadable gratis. The system will allow applicants to submit admissions documents via PC, smartphone and tablet, and facilitate the payment of exam fees by credit card, or through ATMs and convenience stores, among other methods.
Rikkyo University will be the third Kanto-region university (as of February 24) to introduce an online enrollment procedure. Admitted students will be able to avoid re-inputting information, as they will be able to use extant data from their original application.
The system is expected to make it easier for applicants and admitted students to submit documentation, while streamlining the university’s clerical burden in the process.
