■ Application Guidelines
Objective
The objective of this scholarship is to offer a pre-enrollment scholarship commitment to excellent privately financed international students (hereinafter referred to as "international students") from various regions and countries who display a strong desire to study at Rikkyo University. By doing so, it aims to welcome excellent international students from across the globe, contribute to the further internationalization of Rikkyo, and nurture students to use their studies at Rikkyo to play an active international role in their future careers.

Eligible Students
Enrollees through the Entrance Exam for International Students.
(Assessment system via written examination and interview for the College of Intercultural Communication; Assessment system via document screening for the 11 Colleges excluding the College of Intercultural Communication).

Scholarship Amount, Payment Method, and Period
(1) Award Amount: 600,000 JPY/year
(2) Payment Method: Paid in installments of 300,000 JPY each during the spring and fall semesters after enrollment.
(3) Payment Period: 1 year

12 students (1 student from each College)

Application Eligibility and Requirements
(1) Students who have or will have the “Student” status of residence at the time of enrollment.
(2) Students who have passed the Entrance Exam for International Students and will enroll at Rikkyo University.

Applications
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements for the Entrance Exam for International Students are automatically considered to have applied for this scholarship. (No separate application from the applicant is required).

Selection Method
Recipients will be selected during the admissions assessment process of each College, and the university will make the final determination.

Announcements
Prospective recipients shall be notified of the award via email on the same day as the announcement of the entrance examination results.

Important Notices

• In the light of the spirit of the scholarship, the recipients of the scholarship shall endeavor in their study at Rikkyo and complete their courses, while serving as a good role model for others.
  
• The scholarship shall be withdrawn in the event that it transpires that a recipient does not have the “Student” status of residence after enrollment in principle. In that case, the recipient must return the awarded amounts.
  
• The scholarship shall not be paid for semesters in which a student takes a leave of absence. Also, payment of the scholarship may be suspended when it is recognized that circumstances have arisen in which it is not appropriate to award the scholarship, such as the recipient abandoning their studies at Rikkyo.
  
• A recipient shall forfeit eligibility to receive the scholarship when they are subject to withdrawal or expulsion from Rikkyo, or when it is deemed appropriate to disqualify them from receiving the scholarship due to suspension from classes or disciplinary action, etc.
  
• Regarding Application Eligibility (1): The “Student” status of residence requirement may be waived in the event of special circumstances, such as the inability to obtain a student visa due to reasons beyond the individual's control.
