What is JPETS?
The Japan Pre-Entry Tuberculosis Screening (JPETS) system requires individuals from designated countries who plan to stay in Japan for a medium to long-term period (more than 90 days) to undergo a chest X-ray examination at a designated medical institution before entry. A "TB Clearance Certificate" will be issued if the examination shows no signs of tuberculosis.
Applicants must undergo this screening and submit the "TB Clearance Certificate" when applying for a COE.
