Ikebukuro Campus

Main Library

The Main Library includes Mather Library, built in 1918 when Rikkyo University moved to Ikebukuro from Tsukiji, the New Building that lies adjacent to it, and the Media Library, located on the second floor of Building No. 7. The Main Library houses a collection of nearly 300,000 volumes, most of which are Japanese books, journals, and periodicals.

Social Sciences Library

The Social Sciences Library is a research library that houses approximately 340,000 research items. Volumes in this library focus on topics related to the Colleges of Economics, Sociology, Law and Politics, and Business; graduate schools; independent research institutes (Graduate Schools of Business Administration, Social Design Studies, and Intercultural Communication); the Law School; and foreign languages (titles in English, Spanish, and Chinese).

Humanities Library

The Humanities Library is located on the first and fifth floors of Building No. 6, and the adjoining West Wing. This research library stores documents related to the College of Arts and Graduate School of Arts, as well as titles in German and French. It contains approximately 200,000 books and 20,000 bound journals. The library currently subscribes to 1,500 Japanese and foreign magazines and journals.

Natural Sciences Library

This research library contains mainly research documents related to natural sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry, and life science), including about 39,000 books and 36,000 bound journals. The library currently subscribes to 280 Japanese and foreign journals.

Niiza Campus

Niiza Library

The Niiza Library is a comprehensive study and research library that was established on the Niiza Campus in April 1998, together with the College of Tourism and the College of Community and Human Services and their respective graduate divisions. The library was renovated and furnished with the latest equipment when the College of Contemporary Psychology and its graduate division were established in April 2006. It can also be used by persons aged 20 and over who live or work in Niiza.

Niiza Repository Library

Since its construction on the Niiza Campus in 1982, the Niiza Repository Library has accumulated a diverse collection that has become the pride of Rikkyo University. The collection contains documents related to the Episcopal Church, rare books, approximately 80,000 volumes published before 1955, various periodicals published before 1970 (including American and European newspapers), numerous collections, and microform materials.
