Trinity University teachers, students visit Rikkyo University

07/07/2017

A group of four faculty members and 15 students from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, visited Rikkyo University’s Ikebukuro Campus on June 2 as part of exchanges between the two educational institutions in the run-up to the signing of a partnership agreement.

The group joined 10 Rikkyo University students—mainly those enrolled in the Global Liberal Arts Program that started in April—in a lecture on the Japanese economy by Mario Gonzalez-Fuentes, assistant professor at Trinity University’s Department of Business Administration and a member of the visiting group. After the lecture, students from both universities conducted in-depth discussions in English. This was followed by a lunch meeting held among students and teachers from the two universities, which helped both sides learn more about their counterparts and each other’s university.

Trinity College, which focuses on small-group teaching and has a student-faculty ratio of 9:1, was ranked No. 1 in Regional University West in 2017. Since the two universities signed an exchange agreement in May 2016, Rikkyo has accepted exchange students from the American university. Trinity University Professor Randall Nadeau is scheduled to give a lecture during the intensive summer course at Rikkyo this August.
