Call for applications for the College of Intercultural Communication Assistant Professor position

The College of Intercultural Communication at Rikkyo University seeks applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor position in Language Studies, Interpreting & Translation Studies, Communication Studies, or Global Studies.

Position Assistant Professor (non-tenured)
Areas of Specialization Language Studies, Interpreting & Translation
Studies, Communication Studies, or Global Studies
Responsibilities (1) teach all levels of communication skills courses (Communication Seminar) and designated courses in English based on the need of the college and the individual’s expertise;
(2) teach English courses in the Center for General Curriculum Development; and
(3) fulfill administrative responsibilities assigned by the college.
Type of Employment Full time (one year appointment to begin April 2016. The contract is renewable on an annual basis up to four times.) 
Qualifications Applicants must:
(1) possess native or near-native proficiency in English; 
(2) have a good command of Japanese;
(3) have a master's degree (or PhD) in Language Studies, Interpreting & Translation Studies, Communication Studies, or Global Studies; and
(4) have a strong record of quality teaching and demonstrated potential for scholarly research
Starting Date April 1st, 2016

Application Procedure Review of applications will begin on December 15th, 2015. Consideration will be given only to complete applications. Final candidates will be invited for a campus interview in late December.
