Nobel Laureate in Physics, Professor Gerard 't Hooft's Lecture on "The World of the Higgs Boson and Elementary Particles" on April 14th

03/26/2015

On April 14th, Rikkyo University will be hosting a lecture by the Nobel laureate in physics, Professor Gerard 't Hooft. Professor 't Hooft is a theoretical physicist of Utrecht University. In the early 1970s, he proved the mathematical consistency of the Yang-Mills theory, and laid the foundations of standard theory construction of elementary particles based on the gauge theory. In addition, he is also well known as an advocate of holography in quantum gravity theory. In 1999, he was awarded the Noble Prize in Physics for elucidating the quantum structure of electroweak interactions in physics.

In this lecture, Professor 't Hooft will be introducing modern physics which attempts to encounter the mysteries of the quantum world and the universe.
