Public Lecture "Cultural Lifestyles: Resources, Boundaries and the Changing Manifestations of Social Inequality" on February 20

College of Sociology has invited Professor Koen van Eijck as an incoming guest researcher from the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication, with which Rikkyo University now has an inter-university agreement, and intends to promote academic exchanges.

In commemoration of this event, we will hold a public lecture on how the cultural lifestyle and social inequality are associated with each other on February 20.

Lecturer Koen van Eijck (Professor at Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication)
Profile Associate Professor at the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication. His specializations are: Sociological studies on cultural taste and participation, including trends and social inequality in culture consumption, art perception, the aesthetic experience, cultural boundaries, cultural omnivorism, cultural re-production and the relation between cultural lifestyles and social values. He is a sociological researcher on cultural taste and participations, and an advisor for the Ministry of Education, Art and Science of the Netherlands.
