One of the most promising “Rakugo” performers, Katsura Kaishi, is coming to Rikkyo! Join us and enjoy a traditional Japanese one-man storytelling live performance. Katsura Kaishi is one of the very few traditional storytellers who can perform in English. He has visited 14 different countries and performed more than 320 times overseas, getting rave reviews everywhere he goes.
In this 90-minute event Katsura will briefly speak about his overseas experiences in Japanese, and then he will perform “Rakugo” in English. After his performance, three students--a Rikkyo University College of Business student, an international exchange student, and a Rikkyo Ikebukuro High School student--will perform very short “Rakugo” stories in English and will get some feedback from Katsura. Don't miss this great chance of getting to know more about Japan. This event is open to the public, so please bring your friends, too!
