OBJECTIVE.

The College of Intercultural Communication at Rikkyo University seeks applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Intercultural Communication or a related field.

1. Position Title:
Non-tenured Assistant Professor. Full-time. One-year contract renewable four times (up to five years total).

2. Starting Date:
April 1, 2022

3. Area of Specialization:
Global Studies (Cultural Studies, Multicultural sustainability theory, etc.)

4. Classes:
Classes in the department PEACE program: Academic Skills, Cultural Exchange, College Life Planning, Dual Language Pathway(DLP)classes, other Global Studies classes

5. Other responsibilities include the areas of teaching, research, entrance exam, departmental management, and others as specified by the faculty dean and department chair.

6. Qualifications:
(1) Master’s degree or PhD in Intercultural Communication or a related field;
(2) Ability to teach courses in English, as required in the DLP and PEACE programs;
(3) Ability to assist in the management of the College of Intercultural Communication's PEACE program curriculum;
(4) The ability in Japanese necessary to follow and contribute to Departmental procedural matters;

(3) 3 published articles/works of research (1 in English). These can all or in part be submitted as a PDF file.
(4) The name of 1 reference, including affiliations/titles, and contact. information (phone numbers and e-mail address) provided on a separate sheet of paper.
(5) A statement in English (700 words) telling how you can contribute to the College of Intercultural Communication's DLP and PEACE programs.

10.Selection Procedure:
Applicants who pass the document screening process will be contacted by e-mail by October 4. Interviews of these candidates will take place on one of the following days: October 11 (Mon.), 12 (Tue.), or 16 (Sat.).

Note:
(1) Interviews, which will include a class demonstration, may be conducted either online or in person.
(2) Applicants who are currently overseas are welcome to apply. However, the selected candidate will be expected to have relocated to Japan no later than April 1, 2022.
