Professor Osamu Abe won the 3rd TEMM Environment Award

Osamu Abe, Professor of the Graduate School of Intercultural Communication, College of Sociology (former Director at the Research Center for Education for Sustainable Development (“ESD”)) received the 3rd TEMM Environment Award at the Tripartite Environment Ministers Meeting (“TEMM”) held among Japan, China and Korea, which took place in Shanghai, China on April 29th (Wed) and 30th (Thu)

The TEMM was established in1999 by the governments of Japan, China, and Korea to address urgent and crucial environmental issues affecting Northeast Asia. The member countries have been taking turns to host the event every year, where the participants share the challenges that they face while tackling the environmental issues and also discuss the measures that they implement. Since 2013, the TEMM has been giving the TEMM Environment Award to one person per country each year, who has made a significant contribution to the environmental cooperation among the member countries.
Professor Abe was awarded for his substantial contribution to the research, practice and exchange activities for environmental education and ESD in Japan-China-Korea over the years.
