Cancellation of Commencement Ceremony and Degree Conferral Ceremony for Academic Year 2019 (updated March 24)
In the light of the current situation, where an increasing number of people affected by the Novel Coronavirus has been reported, Rikkyo University has made a decision to cancel the Commencement Ceremony and Degree Conferral Ceremony for Academic Year 2019.

It is needless to say that these ceremonies are very important to close campus life for students, and this decision was not easy especially when we think about the excitement and joy that our students and family had toward these ceremonies.

Please do understand, however, that this decision was made to give the top priority to safety for our students and family.

We are willing to make every effort, so that we may face this situation and go back to peaceful daily life as soon as possible.

I am sorry that I may not be able to offer my congratulations to each of you in person as President of Rikkyo University, but here I sincerely wish you continued success and prosperity for each of our students, who is going to graduate from Rikkyo University.
