Tutor System (General Guidance)

For “special international students” enrolled via inter-university agreements

If deemed necessary by a supervising professor, special international students sent from Rikkyo University’s partner institutions via an inter-university agreement can receive tutorial help during their first three months in Japan. Sessions run on a two-hour per week basis and the tutors are students deemed suitable for the international students’ specialized field, and selected by the advisor or supervising professor. In some cases, international students sponsored by Monbukagakusho and international students studying abroad through consignment by organizations paying scholarships can use this system.

Assistance with academic studies and research (up to three months after entering the university):

Guidance plans are established and conducted through consultations with one’s advisor or supervising professor.
Explanations and guidance for Japanese and technical terminology, preparation and reviewing for classes, assistance with studies outside of the university, proofreading reports and theses, reviewing for basic courses, and more, are also provided.
