Vice Chancellor Renta Nishihara appointed chairperson of Association of Christian Schools in Japan

OBJECTIVE.
Renta Nishihara, vice chancellor of Rikkyo Gakuin, has been appointed the 28th chairperson of the Association of Christian Schools in Japan. Nishihara is also chair of the Graduate School of Christian Studies and a professor in the College of Arts.
The Association of Christian Schools in Japan is an organization of 102 Protestant Christian schools in Japan. Its activities are aimed at studying shared problems and seeking mutual progress and development.
Nishihara was elected as the 28th chairperson of the Association of Christian Schools in Japan at a regular general meeting held June 8 and 9 (Fri.-Sat.) at Kanto Gakuin University. Nishihara’s two-year term in office began June 9.
Nishihara is the fourth person from Rikkyo University to serve as chairperson of the association and the first in 63 years. He is preceded by Sakunoshin Motoda, Charles S. Reifsnider, and Junzo Sasaki.
